Abstract

This paper discusses the findings of a research study with youth in Canada, discussing youth beliefs about, and actions towards, civic life and the connections between these factors and youth’s personal conditions and surrounding contexts.  The findings illustrate the complexity of youth civic views and behaviours. The paper concludes with recommendations that emerge from the findings and aim to improve citizenship education.
